“Water can flow… Water can crash…” Opposites attract.

The Watercrush collection by Byblos is a journey into the depths of the abyss, where nature and technology merge into an amphibious woman—perfectly at ease both in and out of the water.

For the upcoming Spring/Summer 2023 season, Manuel Facchini, the Creative Director of the brand, drew inspiration from Canadian photographer Robin Cerutti, renowned for his captivating underwater portraits in the Mirrors series.

This time, Byblos expresses its DNA by fusing it with the chromosomes of a deep-sea creature—donning mini dresses and jumpsuits with ergonomic cuts inlaid with tulle that, like new wetsuits, wrap, protect, and at times reveal femininity.

She emerges from the water in wide multi-pocket cargo pants, echoing the shapes of life jackets, and wears 3D sandals with heels shaped like scuba diver snorkel tubes, along with chrome-plated neo-rock necklaces.

Light play and refractions define the collection: garments are covered with tiny geometric mirrors—transparent or colored—that reflect perspective and transform it into a magical prism. Glimmers of a fluid, liquid, and metallic atmosphere, from a yet-unknown planet.
