ABOUT US

BYBLOS was born in 1973 as a well-dressed provocation. It never tried to please everyone: it tried to say something.

We are a fashion house from Milan. We design one line, genderless. You'll find it here, on byblosofficial.com, and at Via della Spiga 33. The craft has been the same for fifty years: take two worlds that shouldn't go together and let them collide, until a new species is born. A spine becomes a jewel. A DNA helix becomes an earring. A blazer becomes a dress. Designed in Milan. Cut and finished in Italy, by people who know how. And when a pair of hands, somewhere in the world, does one thing better than anyone, embroidery for instance, we go and find those hands.

1973

THE STORY OF BYBLOS

BYBLOS was born to speak to a new generation: young, cosmopolitan, allergic to rules. From the very first season it chose to be a laboratory before being a maison: color, prints, an attitude that doesn't ask permission.

1970s · A YOUNG GIANNI VERSACE

Among the house's first designers is a young Gianni Versace, at the start of his career and already with a vision all his own. With him BYBLOS finds the language it has never left: irreverent, vibrant, theatrical. Fashion as visual storytelling, made of graphics, color, prints and silhouettes that don't go unnoticed. The vocabulary of those years is still ours.

1980s AND 1990s

GUY PAULIN, KEITH VARTY AND ALAN CLEAVER

After Versace come Guy Paulin, then Keith Varty and Alan Cleaver, until 1996. BYBLOS becomes a laboratory of ideas: the hand of Made in Italy and an international, provocative research that anticipates visual codes that arrived years later. It's the era of supermodels on the runway and of campaigns that today are fuel, not memory.

NICK KNIGHT AND WINNIE HARLOW

The Spring-Summer 2019 campaign, shot by Nick Knight with Winnie Harlow: the pieces dissolve into color and energy, as if all that remained of the dress were the force that made it. Winnie Harlow is also the face of that year's eyewear.

TODAY

Exploded in the Eighties, crowned in the Nineties with the supermodels. Then the archive stayed switched on: it isn't a cabinet to dust, it's a reactor. Today that energy is back in circulation, fired forward.

Since Spring-Summer 2026 every piece has its digital passport: point your phone at it, and the piece can tell you who it is. With the piece comes a pass to Backstage, our community. Getting in is up to you: you sign up, and you're backstage. Who's in sees things first, and is there when they happen.

2006 · Manuel Facchini becomes creative director.

2018 · BYBLOS returns to the runway at Milan Fashion Week.

2022 · The restart from zero: BYBLOS becomes a house that speaks and sells directly to its customers. In February, Spiga 33 opens, with neon chromosomes designed by Manuel Facchini.

2023 · The film of the Fall-Winter collection wins Best Fashion at the New York City International Fashion Film Festival.

2024 · The DNA earring: a double helix that becomes a jewel. INNERSELF, the digital capsule with Style3D, for Spring-Summer. In September, the Spring-Summer 2025 launch party.

2025 · In April, Design Week: installations and activations in the streets of Milan, and a line that went around the city, "If you don't get it, it's avant-garde". In June, "A Taste of the Future": outside Spiga 33, a gelato with an NFC chip in the cup, and for a few, a prize hidden inside.

2026 · The digital passport on every piece. SPINE, the spine necklace. DOPAMINE: the bag and the night, September 22, at the Dazi. The same evening, at Vogue World Milan, a BYBLOS piece walks through the Galleria.

Today BYBLOS is led by the person who designs it. Manuel Facchini: creative director since 2006, keeper of the books since 2022. The first collision he ever staged was himself.
